The Allocation Analyst is responsible for optimizing the initial and subsequent distribution of product to stores for assigned departments of merchandise. Primary responsibilities include driving store performance in departments of responsibility through the optimal assignment of product to stores in order to meet sales opportunities.
•Execute initial allocations as defined by store grading and the assortment plan
•Execute allocations on a timely basis to support in bound flow and logistics requirements
•Monitor in season performance of fast and slow moving merchandise
•Ensure that inventories are proportionately in line
•Contribute to the financial success of the departments by meeting or exceeding sales and inventory turn
•Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams (e.g. Buyer, Planner, Stores)
•Participate in cross-functional meetings, contributing input on distribution strategies
•Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge
•Bachelor’s degree required
•2 + years of Retail experience as an Allocation Analyst, Merchandise Analyst or Assistant Buyer is required.
•Working knowledge of merchandise allocations systems desired
•Experience in a specialty retail environment would be an asset
